Hello, my name is José. As an essential part of doing research, you must point out excellence but, most importantly, honesty. I am a fourth-year Ph.D. student in Engineering Systems and also an economist. And I’ve been involved in research projects for nearly eight years in health economics, the Chilean pension system, game theory, corporate finance, Chilean stock market, political sciences, and the Chilean credit card industry; and worked as a T.A. in over 15 courses at undergraduate and graduate levels. My honesty and meticulousness not only has led me to work with highly skilled scholars in universities and foundations, but it also let me earn the trust of my peers by being the president of the bachelor’s of Economics, Master of Economics and now being part of the organizing committee from the seminars of my Ph.D. I enjoy studying the imperfections of Chilean markets, learning and applying new econometric methods, but overall I love working with others towards a meaningful goal that may have a positive impact on people’s lives.
